My Home, My Haven, 2026
Cotton voile, calico, fusible fleece, wooden dowel
My Home, My Haven (2026) is a textile based work that transforms maternal language into material form. The work draws from letters and cards from Sienna Pavlovski’s Mother given to her throughout her life. These words have been reworked into a poetic text that exists as mantra and reflection. My Home, My Haven (2026) layers meaning between material and message, between what is given and what is held. Pavlovski's use of textiles, materials traditionally associated with domestic labour and intimate care, embody warmth, protection, and generational care.
Through the soft, tactile nature of fabric, maternal words become something that can be physically held and carried.
